| So, I'm flag the latest version of Firefox is a LOT more stable. Youtube isn't crashing it twice a day, but...
Under Windows, the right click menu on links takes a few second to come up, and often when typing in text windows, the cursor falls way behind like I'm typing over 300 baud modem. And yet the CPU and memory usage is low.
I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but I can't help but wonder if Firefox is falling in to the same trap Netscape did. Netscape was perpetually trying to get new features out before Microsoft, and they focused on that at the expense of fixing bugs, so while they had a lot of feature, the browser was completely unreliable.
I feel like Firefox is starting down that same path with Firefox 3. They are all about features, with no shame when it comes to releasing a buggy browser. | comments: Leave a comment |
| | So I watched the Pilot episode for Warehouse 13 on Hulu last night, and it was fun. Imagine an American version of Torchwood, but written by Joss Whedon. It's not Torchwood, and it's not written by Whedon, but it feels like both those things might be true. It's worth checking out. | comments: Leave a comment |
| We have come so far in the last 12 years...
I was looking at the Cars for Clunkers deal. You can see the details here: http://jalopnik.com/5285833/a-guide-to-the-cash-for-clunkers-bill
So, my 6 cylinder 1997 Dodge Dakota gets a combines fuel rating of 16mpg. I looked at 2009 version of the same truck and... 17mpg. 12 years and only 1mpg improvement?!?!?
Sadly, only one or two models out of all the manufactures could meet the 18mpg requirement with a 6 cylinder engine. It pretty much means if you want a truck that can haul anything, you are out of luck with this program.
Alas, with the house, it's not like I have money run out and buy a new vehicle anyway... | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
